Law Enforcement Information

FilterNone is an anonymous, ephemeral platform for short text. We do not create user accounts, we do not set persistent cookies, and we do not maintain logs that map Submissions to IP addresses or device identifiers. Each post (a “Submission”) exists only in volatile memory and is automatically purged approximately sixty (60) minutes after creation. As a result, we generally cannot attribute a Submission to any individual.

What We Have (Typically)

Preservation Requests (18 U.S.C. § 2703(f))

If you seek preservation of a specific Submission before it expires, send a timely and narrowly scoped request identifying all of the following:

If received within the TTL window, we may preserve the identified Submission’s text and limited system timestamp pending follow-on legal process. We cannot recover Submissions that have already expired.

Service of Legal Process

Preferred: email legal@filternone.com with scanned, clearly legible documents. We also accept mail at our published address in Legal. Requests must be valid in the relevant jurisdiction, narrowly tailored, and clearly identify the content at issue (permalink URL and timestamp). Nothing here waives protections under 47 U.S.C. § 230 or other applicable law.

Attribution & Network Records

FilterNone does not retain IP addresses or identity logs that would attribute Submissions to individuals. Network providers (e.g., CDN/WAF/ISPs) may maintain their own logs independent of FilterNone. Those records are not under FilterNone’s control. Parties seeking such records should direct lawful process to the applicable provider.

Emergency Situations

For immediate threats to life or safety, contact local authorities. If you email legal@filternone.com regarding an imminent emergency, include the permalink and exact timestamp so we can attempt preservation within the TTL window. We cannot identify users or provide IPs we do not possess.

DMCA

Copyright claims are handled under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Please see our Legal page for the required elements of a notice and counter-notice. Given ephemerality, material may self-delete within ~60 minutes.
